While we all know that September 8th is our traditional day to celebrate our Blessed Mother’s birthday, many may not know that the month of September is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. As predicted by Simeon at Jesus’s presentation, Mary was told her heart would be pierced by a sword.
Mary told St. Bridget that 7 graces would be bestowed on those who pray 7 Hail Mary’s each day in honor of her 7 sorrows which are listed below. The traditional feast day for Our Lady of Sorrows is today, September 15, so beginning today perhaps you can start a family tradition and pray 7 Hail Mary’s together each day.
