Bridge Inderwies

South Jersey Catholic Schools recently highlighted our very own Bridget Inderwies. This is what they wrote: We are headed down the shore today for our newest #teacherhighlight, as we meet Bridget Inderwies, middle school English and Language Arts teacher, at Wildwood Catholic Academy! Mrs. Inderwies has been an educator for 28 years, with the last 4 years at Wildwood Catholic. She loves that the school really knows every student, that they get to see them grow up, and that many love to stop back and visit. A real close-knit community! A fun fact about Mrs. Inderwies: She has never worked in Catholic school without her children with her. They all went through the school and before the youngest graduated, the oldest was back as my co-worker. So cool!

Pre-Prom Assembly Provides Students With Driver Safety Tips

Wildwood Catholic Academy high school students attended the Pre-Prom assembly presented by Traffic Safety Specialist, Wayne Shelton. The program is called "The Most Dangerous Place on Earth" named for the approximately 100 people that die in car crashes every day. Wayne focused on Defensive Driving Theory, Occupant Protection (seat belts and airbags), Teen Driving and the consequences of poor driving decisions. Wayne also focused on DWI and Distracted Driving. This is an important message for all our students to continue to be safe.

Nola Quinn & Stella Quinn Work to Provide For Those Less Fortunate

WCA is proud of senior Nola Quinn & junior Stella Quinn as they saw the need and are working hard to provide those less fortunate with feminine hygiene products. In this county alone there is an incredible need for food and shelter. Recognizing that this additional need was not being met or prioritized triggered Nola and Stella to take action. We will be collecting feminine hygiene products through the month of May and will have a dress-down for the 6th-12th graders to help with this important issue. Thank You Nola & Stella!

covered

COVERED is an organization started by sisters, Nola Quinn and Stella Quinn committed to providing no-cost menstrual health products to women and teens that live in poverty, are low-income, or are homeless. It is a priority to provide safe and healthy options for thoes that live in “period poverty” It can be detrimental to both the physical and mental well- being of those that do not have access to safe options. Collections are distributed to community outreach centers to be distributed to the individuals that they serve.

Did you know:

> Feminine Hygiene products are some of the most needed products in shelters and food-pantries.

> A study in Obstentrics and Gynocology demonstrated that 64% of women at one time or another struggled to afford menstrual products.

> Currently, there are approximately 22 million women living in poverty in the US who cannot afford menstrual hygiene products. This is a problem known as “period poverty”. This number is growing daily as the cost of living in the USA goes up.
