The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus celebrates Jesus’ deep love and compassion.
The readings reflect God’s enduring care and mercy for his people. This devotion is derived from a Roman Catholic nun from France in the 1600’s. St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, who had many apparitions from Jesus. Jesus called her to spread the news about his deep love and compassion to all mankind.
