3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Sunday, January 26, 2025

The 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time emphasizes the call to ministry and the significance of scripture. The readings highlight the teaching and interpretation of the law, the unity of believers as parts of the body of Christ, and Jesus’ public ministry as He proclaims the fulfillment of scripture. Key themes include the sacrament of Holy Orders, the universal priesthood of believers, the importance of scripture study and knowledge, fostering a sense of community, and reaching out to those who feel excluded.

The Mass is nothing short of amazing. Through it, we encounter God in the most intimate way possible as we hear him speak to us in the Liturgy of the Word and as we receive him Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Holy Eucharist. In his video-based study A Biblical Walk Through the Mass, Dr. Edward Sri explores the roots of the words and gestures we experience at Mass and explains their profound significance. This fascinating tour of the Mass will renew your faith and deepen your love for and devotion to the Holy Eucharist.

I did this study last year and thought it was so amazing that I have decided to do it again because I want more people to truly know what is happening at the Mass. To make it even easier for Wildwood Catholic parents to participate I have decided to do a class on Tuesday mornings after student drop off. Come into the cafeteria, grab a cup of coffee and learn about what is truly happening at the Mass. If you cannot make Tuesday mornings… Join us in Kelly Hall at Assumption Church in Wildwood Crest for the 5 weekly sessions.

Please call Donnamarie Sexton at 609-522-2709 ext. 218 to register. ASAP

Classes will be held on Tuesdays at WCA, 8:15-9:45am

or Tuesdays in Kelly Hall, 6:30-8 pm

on February 4, 11, 18, 25 and March 4.

Wednesdays in Kelly Hall 11-12:30pm

February 5, 12, 19, 26 and March 5
