Marianna Papazoglou graduated from Wildwood Catholic Academy in 2021, during a time when the school faced possible closure. She played an instrumental role in helping to save WCA and left an incredible mark on the community.
At WCA, Marianna served as Student Council Class President, was a member of the National Honor Society, led in community service, and represented the Junior Women of Wildwood. A three-sport athlete, she excelled in girls’ basketball as the program’s all-time leading scorer, becoming the first player in school history to reach 1,000 points as a sophomore.
After graduation, Marianna went on to the University of Pennsylvania, becoming the first WCA graduate to play a sport in the Ivy League. There, she earned a double major in psychology and urban education. She is currently completing her fifth year at West Chester University while continuing her basketball career.
Marianna’s long-term goal is to return to Cape May County as a school psychologist, giving back to the community that has given so much to her.
What truly sets Marianna apart—and what our community knows her best for—is her extraordinary work ethic paired with her genuine humility.
We are so proud to call Marianna one of our own and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes as she continues to represent WCA and Cape May County with excellence!

Celebrating Legacy: The Piro Family
Cy, we are blessed with families whose commitment to Catholic education spans generations. Today we proudly celebrate the Piro family, now in their third generation at WCA.
The Piros’ story began just around the corner from our school, where the children of Sicilian immigrants—Peter (‘67), Nick (‘73), Jay (‘74), Anthony (‘79), Joseph (‘83), and Anna LoBianco (‘83)—first walked our halls. Recognizing the lifelong value of Catholic education, Anthony and his wife Debra continued the tradition by sending their children Johanna (‘04), Samantha (‘07), Antonino (‘12), and Fr. Thomas (‘17) to Wildwood Catholic. Along the way, Antonino even met his future wife, Dr. Mackenzie Scully (‘14), here on campus.
Today, the legacy is stronger than ever with five of Anthony’s grandchildren—Arianna (‘32), Anthony (‘32), Ryan (‘32), Dominick (‘33), and Vincent (‘34)—enrolled at WCA, and his daughter Samantha giving back to the community as our beloved kindergarten teacher.
The Piro family truly bleeds Blue and White, and we are grateful for their remarkable, generational support of Catholic education in Cape May County.

Hi Linda,
Thank you for this & all you do!! Wildwood Catholic changed Charlie Dunner’s life! He has never been more welcomed & loved. The community that WCA has built is second to none! From Mr. Cray to Miss Fourney to all the teachers, students and families, everyone is spectacular!! Charlie is playing basketball and doing very well at Drew University in Madison NJ. He grew so much as a young man, in his two years at WCA! He applied to 9 schools & was accepted to all of them. This has everything to do with the people at WCA!
In college, his ability to focus on his grades & basketball was developed at WCA. He is doing exceptionally well at both. I don’t really need you to brag about Charlie. I wish you would brag about the job that you & your colleagues do every day!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!
